Meet the Team

David grew up in Partry, County Mayo, and graduated with a Bachelor in Dental Science from Trinity College Dublin in 2008. Before studying dentistry, he completed a degree in radiography at University College Dublin and worked at the Mater Hospital for four years.

After qualifying, David worked as a dentist in Dublin for four years before moving to Australia, where he continued practising and later owned a couple of dental practices. He returned to Mayo with his family and became the owner of Breaffy Dental in September 2026.

David believes patients should understand their dental health, the options available to them and the reasons behind any recommendation. He takes a thoughtful, practical approach, helping patients make informed decisions about their care.

David's interests include restorative and cosmetic dentistry and clear aligners. While working in Australia, he taught other dentists about teeth straightening, lecturing for IAS on the Inman Aligner and for ClearCorrect on clear aligners. He has also given radiography lectures to dental students.

Terence established Breaffy Dental in 2008 and has cared for patients in the Castlebar area for many years. Having previously led the practice, he continues to provide dental care at Breaffy, looking after patients and families who have come to know him over that time.

Terence qualified with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1999 and practised in Minneapolis before returning to Ireland. He worked as a dentist in Castlebar and Tuam before opening Breaffy Dental.

Before his career in dentistry, Terence studied biochemistry and molecular biology at Queen's University Belfast and completed a PhD at the Medical College of Ohio. He also worked in medical research in the United States.
