About Breaffy Dental

Care that starts by listening.

At Breaffy Dental, we believe good dentistry begins with a proper conversation. We take time to understand what matters to you, explain what we find clearly and help you make decisions at a pace that feels right.

Our approach

Clear advice. Considered care. Long-term thinking.

We focus on helping you understand your dental health and the options available to you. That means careful assessment, straightforward explanations and treatment plans shaped around your needs.

01

We listen first

Your concerns, priorities and past experiences matter. We begin by listening before recommending a next step.

02

We explain clearly

We use plain language to help you understand what we see, why it matters and what your options may be.

03

We plan with care

Where treatment is needed, we consider the whole picture and help you make a decision without pressure.

04

We look ahead

Our aim is to support healthy, comfortable teeth and gums for the long term, with ongoing care when it is helpful.

The people behind the care

A practice built around continuity and trust.

Breaffy Dental is led by Dr David O'Malley, a general dentist registered with the Dental Council of Ireland. Dr O'Malley provides a comprehensive range of dental treatments including examinations, hygiene, restorative dentistry, dental implants, clear aligner treatment, dentures and comprehensive care planning. He is not a specialist orthodontist or implant specialist. Where a patient's needs are better served by specialist care, he will discuss this and referral can be arranged.

Why patients choose Breaffy Dental

A practice built on clarity, care and proper dentistry.

Registered with the Dental Council of Ireland

All dental professionals at Breaffy Dental are registered with the Dental Council of Ireland, the statutory regulator for dental professionals in Ireland.

PRSI dental benefit accepted

We accept PRSI dental benefit, allowing eligible patients to receive a free examination and subsidised hygiene care each year under the Department of Social Protection scheme.

Clear estimates before treatment

We provide a written treatment plan and cost estimate before any planned treatment begins. You will always know what is involved and what it will cost before you decide.

Calm, unhurried appointments

We take time to listen, explain and answer questions. Appointments are not rushed. Nervous patients and people returning after a long gap are especially welcome.

Free on-site parking

Our practice is located at Breaffy GAA Club, just outside Castlebar, with free on-site parking in the GAA car park. Easy to reach from Castlebar and across County Mayo.

Comprehensive range of treatments

From routine check-ups and hygiene to dental implants, Invisalign and comprehensive care planning — most patients can receive all their dental care at one practice.

Your visit

You do not need to have everything figured out before you get in touch.

Whether you are new to the area, returning to dental care, or simply looking for a clearer plan, we are here to help you take a considered first step.
